Gold On Top But Not With A Confirm-able Buy Signal

For the first time since 8/19 the model has gold at the top.  I  prefer a sum count +2 or better for a real buy signal, but being on top ... still not bad.  Energies remain in the basement.

Over to the top 10 Leveraged ETFs;

While not completely contrary to the gold call above, the inverse miners (DUST) is on top.

There are some signs of life for the general market with real estate - DRN, mid caps - MIDU, S&P 200 (UPRO) .. showing up at the top but their inter-day #s are too low.

The best sum number for this group is +10 or better. So, again,  nothing really confirm-able.

Some Indexes In The Models Turnng Up Slightly - Nothing Conclusive.

What a crappy week so far, Last Friday's call turned out to be somewhat accurate.  It's call for the inverse ETFs was pretty good too.

Here's today's numbers.  Nothing really sticks out.  I am looking for Sums with #s < -2% or > +2%.

Nat Gas has been at the bottom so long I am suspect of the model (though UNG is still tanking.)  Several posts ago I thought gold (UNG) had a + confirmation  but with these numbers that was a bit premature.

Not As Bleak As Friday's Estimates

The R2K looks strong.  I'm a bit suspect of Biotech (NBI) being so positive.

Gold has fallen back to the negatives, but like any symbol with a sum that falls within (-1 to 1) anything is possible.

Next Week: Not Pretty

1st things 1st - I've dropped the Fibonacci method - numbers were good but not as good as the original method.

As for next week - I follow many tech. analysis blogs at mcverryreport.com and most are not too positive for next week and the model says the same.  Gold and Insurance have all +'s for next week.  The rest of the indexes really don't give me a good feeling.  And as usual energies continues be a vortex that is sucking money.

Mixed Signals From The 2 Models But Both Say Nat. Gas Still Horrible.

Yesterday we were looking for a bump in the Transports.  It almost happened until there was a late day sell-off across the entire market.  Yet,  a .01% drop is not all that bad compared to the rest of the market.    And then there was the late afternoon announcement of "XPO Logistics to Acquire Con-way" which may help the Transports Index tomorrow.

Below are today's results from both models.

New AI Model - Transports Strong In Both

I developed a new AI model over the long weekend.  Here I show index results from both, two different models with somewhat different results. In one the biotechnology index (NBI) is on top while in the other it's at the bottom.  And conversely oil (DBO) is on the bottom but near the top of the second.  What is consistent is that Transports is at or near the top of both while Natural Gas is on the bottom of both.

The existing model  uses the sums of averages after each individual search.
